The Omega Speedmaster Professional is by far one of our most favorite chronographs. The Speedmaster has an incredible history starting with automotive racing moving into flight and eventually to NASA and the U.S. Space Program. There are many subtle differences within the vintage Omega Speedmaster range of references that make them all slightly unique and different.
This Omega Speedmaster CK2998 limited edition is inspired by the original 1959 Speedmaster ref. 2998, The steel case of the CK 2998 has straight lugs as opposed to the more common curved lugs of today's modern Speedmasters. Additionally, the bezel, dial, and hand configuration are very much reminiscent of the Omega Speedmaster ref 2988. The little details are what makes this such an awesome watch. The tachymeter bezel reads "Base 1000" at the top right as can be found on the original 2998-1 bezel. Also, the alpha-shaped hour and minute hands are accompanied by the unique and throwback "lollipop" seconds hand, with the large luminous dot at the tip complete the heritage look and feel of this watch with a modern and technically advanced twist!
