The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it was rumored President Dwight Eisenhower wore one, but Eisenhower actually wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster-Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1953. However, the nickname "President" is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date. Apart from its executive affiliation, the Day-Date is a symbol of status and luxury, only produced in highly refined precious metals including 18K yellow, white, and rose gold and also platinum, featuring both the day and date complications within the movement.

Rolex introduced the cal. 3155 in 1988, this movement featured an updated double-quickset complication allowing the user to set both the day and date complications quickly. While in position two of the crown, rotating the crown clockwise with promptly change the date, while counterclockwise will quickly change the day.

Rolex finds the perfect balance between luxury and functionality, and this 1995 Rolex Day-Date ref. 18238 with a beautiful glossy white dial is proof of that. There is always rigorous testing of approval for any materials used by Rolex, therefore only the finest materials are used to make Rolex watches. This ref. 18238 in particular is complete with all of its original papers and accessories while remaining in exceptional condition.

CASE & BRACELET

The impressive 18K yellow gold case features very thick lugs that are symmetrical in presence, with signs of light use present and nominal evidence of previous polishing. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is crisp with minimal signs of previous use while remaining in excellent condition overall. The case back retains its factory geometry. The original Rolex 8385 18K yellow gold President bracelet retains 22 links that show very minor stretch and will fit up to a 7-inch wrist. The bracelet comes with two additional links as well.

DIAL & HANDS

The beautiful, classic, and refined glossy white dial is virtually flawless, exhibiting no age or damage. The tritium lume plots feature a subtle eggshell patina and display no degradation when inspected under UV light. The original tritium yellow gold hands match the dial perfectly with no degradation present under UV light inspection.
