The Rolex Day-Date is one of the most iconic and beautiful watches in the Rolex catalog. The Rolex Day-Date earned the nickname "President" after it had been rumored that President Dwight Eisenhower began wearing one.  In reality, Eisenhower wore a Rolex 18K yellow gold Oyster Perpetual Datejust which Rolex gifted to him in 1950. However the nickname President stuck and is quite fitting for the Day-Date as Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, Ford, Reagan, Nixon, and Roosevelt, all wore the Rolex Day-Date model.  It has always been a symbol of status and luxury as the Rolex Day-Date is only made in precious metals most commonly 18k yellow gold and possesses both the day and date complications within the movement. 

CASE & BRACELET

The 18K yellow gold case retains thick and symmetrical lugs that show light signs of use, there is a subtle dent is the side of the case at the 8 o'clock position. The 18K yellow gold fluted bezel is in excellent condition showing only light signs of use. The case back exhibits some light denting as well dues to the softness of the 18K yellow gold. Throughout the case is a handsome rosy patina from the watch not being polished for an extended period of time. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade shell cordovan leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The champagne "pie-pan" dial is in excellent original condition with no damage or aging present. The tritium lume plots feature a handsome creamy patina, under U.V. light inspection all of the lume plots remain intact but the 11 o'clock lume plot shows light degradation. The original tritium hands match the dial nicely and exhibit no degradation under U.V. light inspection.
